Our next show...

It looks like we will be attending the Washington Rennaisance & Fantasy Faire, being held in Buckley, WA in August. We'll be posting more about that in a few weeks as we get closer to the show.

On to some creative news!!! I'll be doing a few more cluster chain rings (and some regular ones as well) in the upcoming weeks. My next one will be 12k gf with labradorite chips. I can't wait. And I'll be getting some more wire in a few weeks to be able to make more pendants, and possible some wire wrap rings. Sterling silver is your friend! *repeats to self several times* Also been thinking of doing a torq or two... We'll see how that goes. Luckily I've got lots of craft wire to practice with.

Some crazy stuff...

Whew!!! It's dusty in here... *clears away the cobwebs* We had some crazy things going on that made business life almost non-existent. Living situations failed and we've moved on to better things, hopefully. So we will be updating the blog regularly now. Now that we are able to do so freely. And just so you don't think that nothing has been being worked on by the WRC team....I'm submitting this flexible banded ring for you. It is made with amethyst chips and is a size 6, the band is made of sterling silver chain woven together with fine silver wire.

Wire Wrap Challenge....

So I've decided to step up my wire wrapping by making a wire wrap ring at some point this week (I've been pondering about it since Monday). Not the basic kind, though, with one piece of wire and a couple of beads. Oh, no! I can't do something the easy way!!! It will be along the same lines as my wire wrap pendants, and I've been studying my favorite wire wrap artisans in my attempts to figure out how to make one and not have the stone or stones fall out of it. :P I may even try something that is just straight wire on my first go and see how that turns out. Hmmm... *goes back to pondering*

Success!!!

Norwescon was a success. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, being really big on people watching. Lots of fabulous costumes too. I picked up a fox tail to go with a pair of fox ears that I steal...erm...I mean, demonstrate when at shows. ;) DeeDe typically wears the cat ears, in purple of course. And I couldn't resist the tarantula finger puppets that were in the booth next to us. So I bought the large one and the small one. We now have someone that is carrying the ears that DeeDe makes. Woot for wholesale!!! :D I sold some of my more impressive wire wrap pendants at the show, and will be putting up the rest of them on the Etsy shop later this week.

I've also been invited to play around in a "real" jewelery maker's studio. Angela, from Angelwear Creations (link), does some fabulous work and I was delighted to be able to get some of my starter stones from her last year, as well as some new stones this year. I'll be going out and playing with her tools and hopefully learning some new stuff at some point in the future.

Norwescon 32

As stated in our previous post, White Rose Creations will be attending Norwescon 32 this year. It will be held at the Double Tree Inn in Seatac, WA April 9-12. What is Norwescon?!?! Norwescon is one of the largest regional Science Fiction conventions in the United States. While maintaining a primarily literary focus, Norwescon is large enough to provide a venue for many of the other aspects of Science Fiction and the interests of its fans such as anime, costuming, art, and more. And we are excited and proud to be listed among the vendors in the Dealers Room. The hours of operation for the Dealers Room is as follows:
Dealers Room

Thursday 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Friday 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Saturday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Sunday 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM

So stop by and visit with the artisans of WRC!!! We'll be so busy with the Con that our next blog post will be sometime next week, and we will update everyone with how well everything went.

Bet you thought I forgot...

I bet you thought I forgot about the blog!! Nothing could be further from the truth. I've just been extremely busy making new items to feature at Norwescon 32. Not so much the chainmaille (although I've made a few more), but more importantly the wire wrap pendants that I will be putting up in the Etsy shop after the show. Norwescon will be held at the Double Tree Inn in Seatac, WA April 9-12. White Rose Creations is proud to be listed among the vendors attending the show. Here are a few of the pendants to get you salivating ;P

The art of chainmaille...

So my experiment with the box chain ended badly. Need smaller rings is all. But I did do a lovely matched set (earrings and bracelet) of 3-1 half persian today, so all is well. I'll update this post with them later on when I can get some photos taken. We'll be treking out to our friend Val's house next Tuesday for a costume fitting. Once everything is done we will upload that photo, too. What's done of it so far is spectacular. DeeDe is doing a wonderful job on it (she's about to gather the skirt, which is tedious when you have 180" of fabric to gather *wipes brow*) I'll be making the jewelry that will go with the costume. Val will be wandering the halls of Norwescon (which is our next show, we'll put up a post a week in advance about it) in it and doing a bit of advertising *squeee*.

As promised... the pic of the Tryzantine bracelet with the matrix opal beads, and a pic of the beads themselves. :D
